Our Story
What I love about my job is the opportunity and ability to help provide someone with new vision.
With over 25 years’ clinical experience, optometrist Guy Ryan has been the steady hand at the helm of Kalamunda Optical since 2010, and our newest location in Forrestfield, since 2017.
Originally from Wagga Wagga in regional NSW, Guy loved the country way of life. But a move to Perth ‘for a year or so’ turned into a move for life after he fell in love with the beautiful west coast and Perth’s laidback lifestyle.
With a desire to provide better care for the community, and for greater flexibility and freedom for his young family, Guy made the decision to go out on his own as an independent optometrist and take over the reins of Kalamunda Optical.
Backed by a dedicated and caring optical team, the practice has continued to grow, with the addition of nearby Forrestfield Eyecare, fulfilling Guy’s vision of a local full scope optometry practice providing personalised, friendly and thorough eyecare.
